1. Climate Research Laboratory for Atmosphere at Shadnagar

Realizing the gravity of the climate change and to address the lack of an accurate climate-quality database from the Indian perspective, NRSC has established a state-of-the-art observatory known as Climate Research Laboratory for Atmosphere (CRL-A) (formerly known as Atmospheric Science Laboratory) at NRSC, Shadnagar campus for continuous measurements of greenhouse gases, aerosols, radiation, precipitation and other meteorological parameters, which is operational since 2014. These precise ground-based measurements constitute reliable records for quantifying future climate change and also serve to validate satellite-based observations.
